Hi all!
We are back from Bahia, Salvador, Brazil! It was an incredible journey full of inspiration, community, and creativity.
We created 20 new works for the exhibition, 'Invisible Light' and was able to collaborate with Salvador elementary and Yogi, Luciana Lencina to introduce our new class, 'Creativity, Consciousness, and Connection: Exporing the Infinite Possibilities of Movement, Meditation and the Arts.'
Through our classes we were able to explore movement, meditation and creative visualization; a guide to daily practices exploring the field of our own limitless possibilities by moving the body, stilling the mind and applying artistic processes which cultivate connections to each other, to the natural world and the imaginal worlds of our own creative potential. Through these classes we were able to use each project as a source of material that informed our final pieces for the show. Mika, Denise, and I were also able to source materials from our field trips out into nature, museums, galleries, and studio visits. It was such a fruitful adventure! I can't believe how much we produced in such a short amount of time. Only two weeks!
BIG thank you to CAS for co-producing and hosting the Ark Project this year. Much gratitude to Jamie Lee for being our guide during our experience and for helping us make our vision manifest in ways that we have never imagined.
There is an amazing sense of peace and joy... to have the opportunity to share our heARTs with the world and create a deeper sense of global community. And to the beautiful city of Salvador... there's no place quite like you on this planet. You are full of passion, color, and the best tropical fruits we've ever seen and tasted!
Looking forward to next years residency! Love and light for transformation and new growth.
